Todd Sanders


CareerPassport Team- What is your status in school and, what are you majoring in? 

Todd - I’m a senior majoring in accounting.
CareerPassport Team- Tell us what some of your career goals are.  

Todd - I’d like to get an internship with Southwest Airlines in the accounting department. I’d also like to get a job with one of the big four accounting firms, and I’d like to pass the CPA exam and become self-employed while teaching college level accounting.
CareerPassport Team - What attracted you to the CareerPassport Program?  

Todd - Getting the opportunity to network and mentor new students who are looking to branch out in the professional world.
CareerPassport Team - How are you participating in the CareerPassport Program?  

Todd - I am a program participant in the tracks available. I’d like to be one of the first to get the distinguished diploma recognition through the CareerPassport Program.
CareerPassport Team - Tell us about some of your achievements in the CareerPassport Program.  

Todd - I have completed 85% of the Self-Discovery Track.
CareerPassport Team- What have you enjoyed most about the program?  

Todd - I love the engaged-learning aspect of the program where you learn by doing. The mentoring program is also an extremely valuable tool for students which is unmatched by any other offerings that I have seen at Utah Valley University. The Career Passport Program allows you to get your feet under you while you continue to study and learn about your passion.
CareerPassport Team- What has been the most beneficial activity you’ve participated in to help you meet your future
career goal?  

Todd - As of this semester, mentoring has been the most beneficial activity. I have an awesome mentor who really pushes me to try new things and obtain all kinds of knowledge, both secular and spiritual.
CareerPassport Team- What advice regarding the CareerPassport program would you give to other students?  

Todd - If you came to Utah Valley University for the engaged-learning aspect; the Career Passport Program/Clubs are definitely for you. Learning by doing is exactly how the program is designed.
