September CareerPassport Spotlight -- Scott McIntosh

September CareerPassport Spotlight

Scott McIntosh

CareerPassport Team- What is your status in school and, what are you majoring in?

Scott - I'm a senior majoring in Biology.

CareerPassport TeamTell us what some of your career goals are.

Scott - I will be applying to Medical School in about a year and will hopefully go on to be an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon)

CareerPassport TeamWhat attracted you to the CareerPassport Program?

Scott - The diploma distinction is what attracted me to this program. That will hopefully make me stand out a little more when I am applying to med school.

CareerPassport TeamHow are you participating in the CareerPassport Program?

Scott - I am a participant in the ELUD level.

CareerPassport TeamWhat have you enjoyed most about the program?

Scott - I have loved how willing the CareerPassport staff is to work with us. It has also been fun to see why everyone else is in the program and I've enjoyed getting to know some of them.

CareerPassport TeamWhat has been the most beneficial activity you've participated in to help you meet your future career goal?

Scott - The focus groups that I was able to participate in were cool because I got to see how everyone’s ideas were put into practice. That and the activities from the track that I’ve done have helped to open my eyes a little bit.

CareerPassport TeamWhat advice regarding the CareerPassport Program would you give to other students?

Scott - Make sure you have a plan for when you will work on the activities and stick to it. The hardest part about the activities is actually just sitting down to do them because they really don’t take much time to do.
